XGEN Technologies

As Pakistan accelerates its digital economic transformation agenda, building a digitally advanced workforce has become imperative. However, research continues finding incongruity between the preparation Pakistani graduates receive and in-demand tech competencies. Addressing such technical skills gaps demands collaboration between skills enablers and technology providers.

It was in this context that NAVTTC DG Mr. Abdul Aziz Chandio recently visited XGEN Technologies’ headquarters in Karachi. Both organizations recognize nurturing talent through public-private synergies is key for economic progress and individual careers in tomorrow’s tech job market.

Studies point to Pakistan facing shortfalls in high-growth skills like artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud and cybersecurity. Unless curricula align with priority sector needs, this hinders digitalization and limits youth opportunities. Industries also report difficulty hiring candidates with specialized abilities.

With growing tech industries and nationwide digital transformation programs, millions of digitally skilled professionals are needed. However, most technical education remains outdated, lacking the application-focus demanded by employers.

Given these challenges, cooperation between private tech enablers and skills bodies has become critically important. Such alliances optimize combined strengths to develop talent for modern job roles.

During discussions, opportunities for collaboration to expand nationwide technical skills access were explored. Partnership areas proposed included industry-recognized certifications, public-private apprenticeships, leveraging XGEN’s edtech expertise in online learning delivery.

By combining competencies, the organizations aim to better address skill gaps, empowering youth with in-demand competencies driving careers and the economy. XGEN remains committed to innovating technical learning access through strategic alliances. The visit reflected a shared mission to cultivate talent. Collaborations between such skills providers and enterprises can effectively groom candidates for future jobs, benefiting all.
